New Animal Video From Icewater Ft. Raekwon and Inspectah Deck

August 13th, 2007

Icewater have just released the brand new video for “Animal” off their upcoming debut album Polluted Water. The song features the young bloods’ revered hip hop mentors: the honorable Raekwon and Inspectah Deck, both teachers from the Wu-Tang School. The School has been relatively quiet since their last Shaolin Showdown under the Iron Flag. The elders have been honing their hip hop skills and teaching them to new brothers who have joined the school in hopes that some day, their kung fu on the mic will be strong and unbeatable. Raekwon feels honored to present Icewater, a group of students who have impressed the Wu-Tang masters and are ready to present their style to the public. The emergence of Icewater from the hidden studios of Staten Island signals a revival of Shaolin Island hip hop. Donnie Cash pays homage to the Wu-Tang School when he says, “Anything coming off of the Island is gonna have that “W” on it. That’s where you get the Wu-Tang. We’re also the youth, the streets, the hood. Just like Dipset is in Harlem, we’ve got the movement of the island behind us.”

Raekwon returns the show of respect to his students when he says, “I can’t put my name on anything that I feel is not on my level. These dudes are on my level, that’s why I pushed for the project; I believe in them. At the end of the day, I knew I’d never build another dynasty with eight or nine dudes. But these dudes’ chemistry is perfect. This is the next dynasty.”

And so it was, the Wu-Tang School enjoyed peaceful times. This led the leaders of the Wu-Tang Clan to suggest a tour of the countryside with their now-well-trained brothers. They left Shaolin Island on a quest to Rock The Bells from West Coast to East Coast to Hawaii, and brought the teachings of the Wu-Tang Clan; to share with those who have yet to witness their lyrical kung-fu style.

Polluted Water hits the streets like a Buddha’s Fist on August 28th, thanks to Babygrande Records. Listen to “Do It Big” featuring Busta Rhymes in the player on the left (in da sidebar)…

You can also check out “Hip Hop Tribute” from Polluted Water by using your Mouse Style and clicking over to their CrackSpace page. No, it’s not another one of my names for murdoch$pace. These guys are so chill, they have their own Space with all the same goodies (and layout) without the evil empire. You can join too, as long as your cool as Ice…

If you missed out on the HearingTest News report with all the details of this new album, just jump over to that post. Definitely check out the list of visiting masters from other schools who are featured on the album of which Remy Ma and Busta Rhymes are only the ahem, tip of the iceberg…

Also, Wu-Tang Clan fans will not have to endure the long winter empty-handed. The Wu is being reborn as we speak and will bring the 8 Diagrams to the masses on November 13th! The Clan is loyal in its ways, and while Loud Records is now defunct, they will continue to work with Steve Rifkind and his new SRC Records label. The Clan consists of all original members except for Ol’ DB, but he will not be forgotten. ODB continues to spit from the past on the new album which will be released on the 3rd anniversary of his death.
