Buju was originally scheduled to go to trial in Florida next week, but a judge has postponed the trial another 2 months without explanation. Banton is still imprisoned and has been since December 2009. Here is audio of a brief phone call between Buju Banton and IrieFM recorded last month (before finding out the trial would be delayed):

It is too bad that the trial is delayed. It will be great to get this over with.
Mark Myrie, aka “Buju Banton,” is, of course, innocent until proven guilty.
If he did the crime, then he has to do the time. That’s kind of shame, too, but I don’t see any way around it.
