If you’ve heard the recording of Kode 9’s otherworldly dj set under the stars at the SONAR festival last year (or if you were lucky enough to hear it live!) than you’re familiar with Burial’s “Speedball2″ and “Stairwell” tunes. You also could’ve heard them on RinseFM which played the unreleased tunes regularly in 2007. Both songs are darker, more technotic than anything on Untrue. Rumour has it that these were part of an album that Burial started, then scrapped, before creating the music found on his latest opus. Is it true? Who can tell when dealing with a recluse who rarely interviews, performs live or otherwise reveals anything beyond the official releases. But like Peter Parker’s exclusive photos of Spiderman, Kode 9 always seems to have the inside track on this dubstep super hero.
