The new Keak Da Sneak video hit the net today: “That Go” featuring Prodigy + Alchemist. Check it out:
Lil Wayne helps us remember Static/Major with this “new” song. Hip hop lost a talented son when Static Major died too young in February. Luckily, his memory will remain strong with songs like “I Got My” featuring his good bud Weezy…
“I Got My” is the first single off Static/Major’s debut album Suppertime, which was due to drop in ’08. I’m not sure what the status of the album is now.
Buckshot and 9th Wonder star in the 2nd video from their upcoming Formula album along with Talib Kweli. “Hold It Down” was directed by Rik Cordero & Dru Ha and portrays the different perspectives of 3 individuals who sharing the same environ. We see Buckshot’s story first, Kweli’s next and 9th Wonder presides over the final scenes:

Duck Down drops Formula on April 29th.
Stack$ and Jah Cure picked a good day to release their new video. “Flying High (National Smoke Day)” was uploaded on 4/20 and received a record-breaking number of views in the first day. Check it out:

“That’s Gangsta” should have been the theme song for season 5 of The Wire. Bun B’s videos look a bit like The Wire southern style. Here he is with Sean Kingston in the new vid for “That’s Gangsta”:
Continuing with our GTA celebration, we have the first tune off the Grand Theft Auto IV Soundtrack: a DJ Green Lantern production featuring Akon, Fabolous and Fat Joe! The track is called “I’m So Fly” – check it:
Thanks to OnSMASH for this one!
See if you can find these geezas:

Lil Wayne serenades hip hop model Lisa Marie in his latest tune, “Lisa Marie.” How do we know it’s about her? Well, amongst other things, both the lady in the tune and the lady in this photo have a butterfly on their upper thigh, so it’s a pretty solid guess:
No word yet on whether this song is intended for Carter III or just to get Weezy laid…
A-Trak and Sinden are nearing the end of their North American tour with Steve Aoki. I can’t wait til they hit San Fran next week, especially after hearing A-Trak and Sinden gang up on Kid Sister with with this acid-funk-adelic remix of “Beeper”:
Count & Sinden never sounded so English-electronica before! ([More →])
Jr Gong Damian Marley premiered his new video this week for “One Loaf Of Bread (Something For You)”. The tune is off the Gang War riddim compilation on Tuff Gong Records and the video is beautifully shot on 8mm film. The black and white super 8mm footage was all shot in Haiti, while the color super 8mm footage was all shot in South Africa.
Gang War riddim is becoming a favorite of mine this year. Every tune I’ve heard on this militant production is heart-felt and serious. The music brings a real conscious vibe that made even Damian sound good!

Dizzee Rascal flew from London to Houston to meet up with Bun B and film the video for “Where’s Da G’s?” B gives D a tour of his hood and hooks him up with a sweet deal on a pair of X-Ray G Glasses.
Unfortunately, Pimp C does not appear in the video, but his verses are on the album edit of this song. BIG Big Choon off the US release of Maths + English from Definitive Jux.
“Where’s Da G’s” with Bun B and Pimp C is the best US/UK hip hop crossover recorded so far….
The Energy God gets to know the “Gully Creepa” in his new video. Elephant Man told the Observer, “We just release the video and it bad. We have the dance lock and throw way di key.” The song is off Elephant Man’s loooooong awaited LP Let’s Get Physical and the video was directed by Julia Braham.
Lots of Lil Wayne tunes in the player this week – check it out: We’ve been bumpin “Lollipop” for awhile now, and Flo-Rida’s “American Gangsta” featuring Lil Wayne. Now we have a tune called “Millie” though I’m not sure that’s the right title (I’ll look into it today). It’s supposed to be off the upcoming Carter III. I love it, especially because it doesn’t sound like a song. It sounds like Lil Wayne just having a conversation over music. Listen here:
