Maybe it was the eclipse last week, or a special alignment of the cosmos when I stated here that I would fly to London to see Murcof play a planetarium show. I haven’t hit the lotto or become a jetsetter yet, but part of my wish will come true nonetheless: I will be relaxing and enjoying a live performance by Murcof tonight at the Artaud Gallery Theater in San Francisco! I’m so excited to go and become so relaxed by his soothing layers of ambient electronica.
He’s playing in SF for the opening night of the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival. The artist known as .pig will also perform tonight. Of course, I will do my best to take pictures and maybe some video or audio to share with you! It’s probably the only night of the festival that I will be able to attend because I am booked solid every night this week: tomorrow night is the End.User/Exillon/Fluorescent Grey show, and I might be attending the Underworld concert this weekend as well. But if I can, I would really like to go back to the SFEMF on Sunday night when Nommo Ogo will play. Ogo are sharing the bill with Fred Frith that night and I can’t recommend them highly enough to anyone who enjoys artists on WARP, Hymen, Isolate Records, Planet Mu, etc. If you are in the Bay area, you should definitely try to make it to Artaud Theater on Sunday night.
So this makes me wonder: If there was a day last week when the cosmos where aligned for granting wishes - even partial wishes (the cosmos have a way of fitting wishes into reality in such a way that won’t get them caught for making the alterations) - What Did You Wish For?
