Curefest Videos And Concert Reviews Part 1

October 23rd, 2007

All right Cure fans! It’s been a minute since Curefest took place and now the videos and reviews are flowing like rain! I’ve run round cyberspace, gathering links and videos of the three day festival at Trelawny Stadium (Big Ups To Don and Kizzy for the help!). What we have here is only the beginning, there will be more videos uploaded and more reviews published in the next few weeks. I will continue seeking them out and linking to them here. As I publish more roundups like this one, I will link to them at the bottom of this page. They will also show up as fresh posts in the reggae and news sections. So, you might want to bookmark this page or subscribe to the reggae RSS feed to get the updates. Now on with the show!

Please let me know in the comments if these videos are too big for you to watch, or if you have any problems viewing them.

Tune In Magazine has a fantastic review of the whole show on Sunday night, from Richie Spice and Chuck Fender, to The Alliance, Ninjaman, Mavado and Beenie Man, finally introducing Jah Cure at dawn. Here’s what Desmond Valentine wrote about Jah Cure’s entrance:

The Cure was finally released and he trodded on stage in all white while carrying a crucifix and singing, “What I am longing for….” With white doves flying as he made his grand entrance one can only imagine how stadium erupted and every air horn was sounded! Jah Cure addressed the crowd reiterating how many years he waited for this moment and promised the patrons that he would give them everything he had, which he did! Tune after tune came out of his catalogue. It got to the point where Jah Cure was merely singing along with his fans. He would start the tune and they would sing out just as loud as the speakers, making his job easy and gratifying.
