Sizzla, Sly, Robbie, Lady Saw Remix Macca Tune

July 10th, 2007

Displaying his versatility and enthusiasm for good music, Paul McCartney is excited about the new remix of “Nod Your Head” from his new album, Memory Almost Full. The remix was produced by Sly and Robbie, infamous for their collaborations as the Taxi Gang and with Sinead O’Connor on her “reggae album.” Sly and Robbie are the top of the game in dub music, playing bass guitar and drums as instrumental work and as backing music supporting vocalists. The singers in the new remix of “Nod Your Head” are none other than Sizzla, Lady Saw and Cherine! That’s right - a dancehall remix of Paul McCartney’s “Nod Your Head”!! The Beatles were huge in Jamaica just like everywhere else at the time, and these musicians were probably stoked to nice it up with Macca’s song. Paul hand-picked the musicians to do the remix, suggesting that he is a fan of theirs as well. I bet this remix will have sexy results! For more details, read the full article in the Jamaican Observer.

The “Nod Your Head” remix was released along with “Dance Tonight” as an international single CD release.

Here is a short vid from Paul’s Tube Channel, an excerpt of the original “Nod Your Head”:

In other Memory Almost Full news, it turns out there are numerous signed copies hiding in among the regular releases. According to Paul himself:

“We sent out 10 within the UK, 10 to Germany, 10 to France, 5 to Italy, 5 to Australia, 10 to Japan, 25 to South East Asia, 5 to Mexico and 20 to the US.”

So if you haven’t bought your copy yet, here’s new incentive to go crate digging!
