Wu-Tang Clan is back in action with the upcoming release of their 8 Diagrams album, their appearance at Rock The Bells in Hawaii and their collaboration with LOUD.com to offer you classic tracks to test your MC skills. But while RZA has been active with side projects, like the Afro-Samurai Soundtrack, fellow band mate Raekwon has been keepin cool with Ice Water.
The official statement:
Under the tutelage of Wu-Tang Clan’s resident chef Raekwon, the four-man crew of Polite, Stomach, P.C. (Paulie Caskets) and D.C. (Donnie Cash) mark Staten Island’s return to prominence as a hotbed for fresh, credible talent. Die hard fans may remember Ice Water from their appearances on several tracks on Raekwon’s last album, 2002’s “The Lex Diamond Story,” as well as their opening stints for the Chef on his subsequent 30+ state tour. As Raekwon confirms, “We knew these cats had potential way back, but the timing wasn’t right. I always kept a radar on dudes, and when I felt they was ready mentally and lyrically, I helped ‘em get on.”
Where there’s potential energy, there’s the means for production. Raekwon and Ice Water are set to release Polluted Water on August 28th. In addition to Raekwon, Polite, Stomach, P.C. and D.C., the album also features guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, Remy Ma, Method Man, Rick Ross, Jagged Edge, Three 6 Mafia, Pimp C and more!
So far, no tracklist has been revealed, but we have the cover art and you can listen to the first 2 tracks off the album:
