ISIS - Slaying Ears For 10 Years, Holy Tears

September 25th, 2007

Today’s theme is tenner anniversaries. Next up is veteran sludge-metal band, ISIS. They’re celebrating their 10th anniversary of creating heavy music together and preparing for a few live shows in the US and one in BC this November. 27, longtime collaborators with ISIS, will open the shows. ISIS and 27 will be joined at different shows by different bands, including Oxbow, Big Business, and These Arms Are Snakes. In addition to the handful of live shows, ISIS will be widely releasing a few singles from their 2006 album, In The Absence of Truth.

ISIS - sludge metal in action

Holy Tears, Harry Potter, Melvins and Lustmord!

“Holy Tears” will release on Ipecac November 21st and features a live version of the song, recorded during the tour with Tool last year. The “Holy Tears” single will also come with a video for the song that was directed by Dominic Hailstone! Movie buffs will recognize his name from Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone! Just imagine what an ISIS video with this man is going to be! Another thing this album ships with is a remix of “Not in Rivers, But In Drops” by label mates The Melvins and dark, experimental artist Lustmord! To be honest, I wasn’t much of a fan of the Absence album, but these last two remixes sound like they could be seriously wicked! “Not In Rivers, But In Drops” is also from In The Absence of Truth, and will also be released as it’s own singles package in January 2008. No word on what will accompany that release yet. Perhaps the remixes again?
