There’s experimental metal afoot! Never content to rest, a few fantastic bands have extended their tours through the Fall, bringing high caliber metal to many regions of the US. Most notably, Jesu will be back in the states for a Fall tour and they will combine dark forces with various other guitar alchemists along the way. They will play a few shows with Torche and Tim Hecker, a few shows with Sunn O))) and Eluvium, as well as a show with Wolves In The Throne Room!

In addition to those two dates with Jesu, Sunn O))) will also perform on November 1st in Olympia with label mates Earth and Wolves In The Throne Room. Grey will be the supporting act for that single date.

As usual, Sunn O))) will be joined by some very special guests for their sets. According to Southern Lord:
Joining sunn 0))) on stage for these performances are very special guests: Attila Csihar (Vokills), and Justin Broaderick (guitar, cold, dark cloud formations). Be prepared for other special unveilings at these shows as well!
The shows will come at the end of recording sessions for the forthcoming 2008 full-length release.

Jesu’s metal$pace
Drat! No stop in SF as of yet… I really enjoyed Jesu when they toured with ISIS and Zozobra earlier this year. I would love to see them and Sunn O))) together. And of course, I’m always down for a Wolves outing. If you missed my earlier post about Wolves In the Throne Room, then you might be interested to know that they will be releasing their newest album, Two Hunters on Southern Lord soon. The dark label has just re-released WITTR’s debut album as well. So look for that if you like quality black metal.
