I guess I missed it when Kanye West was on 60 Minutes. I don’t watch much regular tv, so I’m not surprised. I was happy to find this video of Kanye showing some reporter how to make a dope-ass beat on the Akai MPC drum sampler. He even had to define “dope-ass beat” for the reporter!
The video clip is from June, but it’s good anytime of year… Especially this time of year, when I pine for enuff $$ to buy myself an MPC 2000XL for Xmas. Then my beats would be even more dope-ass! (Currently using a Tama Tech Star for drum sounds and need the MPC to maximize its sequential potential.)
