I am most impressed with Spoon’s choice of cover design for their upcoming album, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.

The photo was taken by Ugo Mulas in 1963, and it shows Lee Bontecou in her New York City studio. Bontecou is one of my very favorite sculptors. She creates these wild things that are like visual glossalalia - everyone will see something different. it could be as big as multiple galaxies rotating around each other, or a chemical structure model. Better yet, just look at this piece :

The album comes out on July 10th on Merge.
