Freakster indie-darlings Les Savy Fav are stepping up their game. Long-time residents of Frenchkiss Records – the label founded and managed by LSF bassist Syd Butler – the new Fav album will be distributed by Sony BMG.

Let’s Stay Friends
The album, Let’s Stay Friends was produced by Chris Zane and includes guest appearances from Emily Haines (Metric), Eleanor Freidberger (Fiery Furnaces), Joe Plummer (Modest Mouse), Nicholas Thorburn (Islands, Unicorns), Fred Armisen, Andrew Reuland, and members of Enon. The album will be released on Frenchkiss September 18th. Another big change for Les Savy Fav is their decision to hit the road again. The band hasn’t toured the last few years, choosing instead to play one-off gigs and local shows, especially at the McCarren pool in NYC. But that’s about to change when they head to Europe in October after a string of NYC shows. Word is that they will tour extensively at the end of this year. Dammit, I hope they make it out west! Lotta peeps out here want to see those blokes!

You used to be able to watch a video of the entire Les Savy Fav set at Citysol in NYC from June. When I went to get it today, the video player wasn’t working for me, but maybe it will work for you. If you want to check it out, it’s on Baeble Music.
Meanwhile, here is the youTube version of Les Savy Fav performing on a solar powered stage at Citysol presented by Brooklyn Vegan:
Here’s 2 more from the same night but different camera person. The audio on these is good, but the camera shakes a lot:
