T2 – “Heartbroken” Ft. Jodie Aysha – [Audio]

November 19th, 2007

Finally have the audio for T2′s “Heartbroken” featuring Jodie Aysha, can’t wait to get the vinyl now! The single dropped on CD and vinyl today, but my paycheck was delayed, so I might just have to ring up Amoeba and put that shizz on hold! In the meantime, I’ve added it to the player so it can mingle with the other hot tunes in there right now….

If you’re just tuning in, “Heartbroken” is probably THE Tune of 2007, representing the youngest offshoot of UK garage, Bassline/Niche music…. There’s a vid and plenty more info on HearingTest about T2 and Bassline, so just use the search box or browse the electronic music section.

T2, Durrty Goodz, Skepta – A Grime Rewind!

November 18th, 2007

This week there have been a number of good interviews and articles posted online from stellar writers immersed in the UK music scene. Rather than rehash what’s already been said, I’ve decided to resurrect the Rewind! (Rewind! is simply a roundup of links to what’s good, what’s new, wha gwaan on the web, and it used to be a regular feature here on HearingTest.) This particular Rewind! features links to some great articles written by a few music journalists that I enjoy reading: there’s a T2 interview, a Durrty Goodz interview, Grimewatch, proof that Grime’s Not Dead, plus video of Skepta in the BBC radio studios with Mary Anne Hobbs, Wiley clashing Ghetto, and a dubstep documentary! New T2 Video – “Heartbroken” W/ Jodie Aysha

November 4th, 2007

T2 comes proper with the brand new video for “Heartbroken” featuring Jodie Aysha. I’ve regularly declared how much I hate the autotuner, but her voice shines through so wonderfully that I have to let it slide this time. Jodie is absolutely sweet and the tune bumps! Check the new video: ([More →])

UK Garage To Bassline House With T2

November 1st, 2007

For those of you don’t know, UK garage music spawned grime and dubstep music. The latter two have been attracting a bigger and bigger spotlight this year with hit smashes from Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Skream, Skepta and more. Meanwhile, the garage producers have been keepin it real with techno and house heavy club bangers and slowly developing a “new” Niche called Bassline House. ([More →])
