The innovative electronica experimentalist, Jean Michel Jarre, is infamous for his immersive audio environments. His major label album was Oxygene on Polydor in 1976. The album (which sold some millions of copies) is considered by some to be the “most important and influential electronic music album ever.” He used a range of analog synthesizers, echo, phaser, and an early Korg drummachine to create the lush melodies, unique rhythms and spacey atmospheres that characterize the album.
