Ali G is insanely clever. (Don’t be fooled by the low-brow character he portrays in this video). He possesses the ideal combination of charisma, satire, intelligence, wit, insight and pure niceness that’s necessary to get away with the ridiculous situations he sets up. I can never get enuff, so I’m dropping this video into the archive for endless enjoyment.

Wayne Wonder just launched his new album FOREVA with a big record release bash in NYC. It was a star-studded party with friends of the musician like Shaggy, Mr. Vegas, Assassin, Red Fox and Rayvon who all took part in some improv freestyles for the occasion which totally won over the crowd. 20-time platinum dancehall singer Shaggy is going to perform “Bonafide Girl” on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on the same day that his new album Intoxication is released: November 13th. Rik Rok will support Shaggy on the air. On November 14th, Shaggy will appear on the Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson where he will stay to chat with Tavis Smiley on the air. ([More →])

Greensleeves is 30! A record store and label that has done so much for reggae music, from roots to jungle, is celebrating 3 decades in business with a double disc compilation release. The album contains 30 songs, each representing a different year in the history of the legendary label and it’s available on CD as well as digital download. Both versions include artwork, sleevenotes and an interview with the founders of Greensleeves.

Dizzee Rascal scored four nominations for UK’s Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards. He is nominated for best UK male, best song for “Sirens,” best video for “Sirens” and best hip hop act. I hope he wins best video because I LOVE that “Sirens” video.
