Alliance Are Keeping It Gangsta At Big Ship

Bounty Killer of The AllianceSend fi di fire department – Big Ship studio is on FIYAH!! That’s what neighbors might have been thinkin when Big Ship hosted a smokin recording session at the end of last summer. The recording session was for “Keeping It Gangsta” by Alliance with Mavado, Bounty Killer, Busy Signal, Wayne Marshall and Bling Dawg on top of a Stephen McGregor riddim! Who Wants To Meet Shaggy In Second Life?

To celebrate the release of his new single, “Bonafide Girl,” Shaggy is having a party in Second Life. That’s right, Mr. Lover Man is going virtual so he can hang out directly with his fans! It takes place in a secret location in SL early in ‘08. Giant video screens will be set up and playing videos from Intoxication until Shaggy arrives.

Mavado is turning out to be the Jamaican artist of the year! His debut album on VP Records Gangsta For Life The Symphony of David Brooks blazed up the charts this summer and continues to win new fans with its dance-friendly rhythms and heartfelt lyrics. But despite his tuff exterior, the Real McCoy has a heart of gold. Now he’s sharing some of that gold with the Jamaican community, especially the youth. I’ve been receiving reports this week of a new charity organization that Mavado created in order to connect the island’s public schools to the information super highway. The Jamaican Star, Big Up Radio, Fader Magazine, and other music news outlets are abuzz today with news of Mavado’s rising success.
Dancehall’s biggest, baddest dj at the moment, Mavado, has signed a 3 album record deal with VP Records. His debut, “Gangsta For Life” is set to be released this July, and features production by Daseca, Stephen McGregor, TJ, and Famous. Of course Fader is stoked, Mavado was their cover boy December 2006.
