Mary Anne Hobbs Show In San Francisco

January 23rd, 2009

Champion of left-field/experimental music on BBC radio, Mary Anne Hobbs is a musical pacemaker on the pulse of what’s pumping out of the global underground. Her weekly show is like a time-release capsule of the latest, greatest dubstep, electronica, techno, breakcore, hip hop or whatever new thing she digs up during the week. If you like San Francisco’s underground electronic music scene or club nights like Surya Dub, An-ten-nae events or the like, you won’t want to miss Mary Anne Hobbs performance on Thursday, January 29th in SF:

Flyer For Mary Anne Hobbs In SF Jan 2009

ONLY $5!!! (Is this MAH’s first SF appearance? I can’t remember ever hearing of her in the area during the last 10 years, but it’s hard to keep up with everything that goes down here.)

It all goes down at the small villa known as 1015 Folsom – called 103 Harriet here, named after the back-alley entrance used for this event. (The alley around the building from the Folsom entrance – where the VIP entrance is for some events).

Kid Kameleon of Surya Dub fame will also play a set at this party, so you know it’ll be good. Kameleon commented on what to expect from Mary Anne Hobbs’ set: “She will be showcasing new, exclusive material at this show, as she puts together a new compilation focused on the current West Coast sound.” Sounds WIIIIIIIIICKKKKKED!
