RWD Magazine has published one great interview after another every day this week. RWD caught up with Eve to discuss hip hop, beats, her new album, record labels and reppin. Just yesterday, they published one of the best interviews with M.I.A. talking about the Tamil Tigers, Timbaland (including what she thinks of Timbaland using her tune on a Snoop Dogg track) and other treasures. We’ve got those interviews and a bunch of music from the new albums…

Interviews With M.I.A.
The best interview/feature story on the lovely Maya Pragasam aka M.I.A. was published on RWD Mag yesterday. She finally speaks openly about her father’s political history and how it has affected her US visa problems. She also describes how, when working with Timbaland on the song “Come Around,” she played one of her own tracks for him to hear. Here’s her exact words:
I played him the Wilcannia Mob track (Mango Pickle Down River) and a month later, it was on the Snoop record - the exact same didgeridoo beat.
You’d think she’d be pissed, like so many others who have been ripped off by “the man who reportedly charges upwards of £150,000 a track,” but instead she’s flattered. She said, “if it’s gotten to a point where I can actually influence Timbaland, as much as Timbaland can influence me, then it’s all good because I can keep on fighting, and in 20 years time I can feel satisfied that I made something I believed in.”
Way to stay positive! She even tells all what she thinks about Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse and I think she nails it. It’s a killer story, I highly recommend it to all M.I.A. fans.
