M.I.A. was in high spirits on Lollapalooza’s Bud Light stage today, thanks in part to a special package she received from Jack White! Spinner reports that the gentleman of The White Stripes Fed-Exed her “a few undisclosed supplies to help with her voice.” O’Rilly? M.I.A. is quoted as saying, “I lost my voice in L.A. but I’ll do my best because it’s been a long f***ing wait to get here!”
Indeed it has. She’s been all over the globe recording her upcoming Kala with her motivating friend Switch, played huge concerts with Bjork in France, filmed the music video for “Boyz” in Jamaica, forced to cancel her appearance at the Sasquatch Music Festival when her visa wasn’t ready, so her only US shows this year were small intimate gigs in SF and L.A. Whew! To say she was jumping with excitement in front of the giant crowd at Lollapolooza is putting it mildly. What was in that care package, hmmmm?
