Dave Sitek sounds like a super fun person to work with in the studio. Scarlett Johansson wins points for convincing him to produce her debut album. The spent a full month at the Dockside Studio in Maurice Louisiana recording an album with that features music by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Celebration!

Studio owner Steve Nails said it was super bass heavy, reminiscent of a movie theatre sound, and avant-garde with all kinds of instruments to make the different tones. He called it cinematic rock and said that Scarlett sounds like Marilyn Monroe. Sounds delicious. With Dave at the master controls, I have faith that it will live up to all this yummy weirdness.

The studio itself sounds like quite a retreat as well – located on 12 acres hidden on the Vermilion River. How sweet, Scarlett and the Vermilion River. The studio is known for its warm sound created on analog recording gear, and for the stars who have recorded there, like B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Irma Thomas, Gatemouth Brown, Mark Knopfler, and local Cajun and zydeco bands.
