Swizz Beatz wants to celebrate his new “Money In The Bank” with some money in your bank. Yep, another contest from cool as ice hip hop stars. $1K if you and your friends join his mobile mob (as long as you aint snitches). Hey, if you can’t sing you can text for treats…
“It’s Me Snitches” - the first single of One Man Band:
This is the song that has New Jersey Police Dept threatening to revoke sponsorship of the “Peace on the Streets” rally unless Swizz renounces his stance in the song. Ok, so I see this right up there with the idea behind the Reggae Compassion Act - how do you feel about lyrical content versus real life? Do we need documents and statements as disclaimers? Do the lyrics of songs like reflect the artists’ experiences in real life or is it a verbal artform, not to be censored?
The peace rally was scheduled for today, Saturday July 26th, and the NJPD has been assured that Swizz’ performance will not promote violence and that the message of his 2 songs will be positive. I wonder what happened…
One Man Band drops on August 21st. Swizz Beatz has produced music for Eve (”Tambourine” - killer dancehall influenced song), Nas, M.I.A. and many more.
