On September 28th, they will have their Ninja Tune Clockout monthly with Ninja Tune artists from the UK vs. Ninja Tune artists from Montreal - plus “exceedingly special guests!” That’s all they are revealing at this time, but you can try to guess based on the following two days of festivities…
The Bug, Amon Tobin, Ghislain Poirier, Megasoid and Sixtoo Have A Piknic
Saturday, September 29th will be Piknic Aquatik aka Barge Burner: Nighttime Pleasure Cruz on a “serious yacht” with performances by The Bug and Amon Tobin! Wow! I have stars in my eyes just thinking about it!
The next night will be a land-based party called Piknic Electronik: Island party with Megasoid, The Bug and Ghislain Poirier, and Sixtoo!
I’m a huge fan of The Bug and his unique blend of electronica, ragga, breakcore + dubstep; to see him live is still a dream of mine. But to see him on a Pleasure Cruze? Too splendid! I can’t believe how long I put off listening to Ghislain. Too long! I finally ended up with a Tigerbeat6 record with his track on the flip side and it ended up being my favorite tune on the record. Great stuff - experimental electronica that I can’t quite describe. I’ve been kicking myself for not listening to his stuff the first thousand times I ran across it.

What A Gorgeous Time Of Year For Cruizin In The NE
East coast peeps with environmentally-friendly cars have my jealousy. I know how easy it is to bounce from the NYC area to Montreal for all the great shows that go down there, and vice versa for MTL peeps to hop over to NYC for a special concert. So if you are in the NE US, you will have plenty of opportunity and ample time to prepare for Ninja Tune’s next musical extravaganza in Montreal, during what they call the best time of the year - the end of this month. Does that mean the leaves are starting to turn rich golden colours already? If so, what a magical time for a train ride through the NE! If there is a train to Montreal, that would be the classy and relaxing way to get there.
