Underworld Brings Oblivion, Crocodile To More Cities

September 11th, 2007

There have been a few updates to the Underworld tour and the release of their new album since we first reported them in early July. Therefore, I’ve compiled a fresh post with all the goods in one place. Very soon I will be publishing a full review of their beautiful concert in San Francisco last weekend, with photos and video for you to devour. In the meantime, check the schedule here to see when they will be playing near you, and check out the recent video for “Crocodile” off of their new album Oblivion with Bells.

New Underworld Album Will Be Delayed Slightly

Die-hard Underworld fans have been buzzing about the new album Oblivion with Bells. It’s been 5 years since we had a studio album from Underworld, but fans will have to wait just a bit longer than expected. It will be the first release from Side One Recordings, and the release date has been pushed to October 16th. According to a recent press release, the electronica is blended seamlessly with acoustic instrumentation and some wordsmithing:

“epic techno nestles next to frail acoustics, beatific prose next to sharp, urban observation, amazing sound texturing mix with mobile phone recordings”

Underworld are in the process of revamping their web property to feature a bunch of resources for fans. Their website will be a integral part of the fans’ experience with the new album. The duo told Billboard:

We will be selling concert recordings and films and continuing to give them away throughout the year. We’ll also continue to do the Web radio broadcasts. We’re hoping to do a Web TV broadcast from America with Quicktime, if it’s at all possible.

Underworld Adds More Shows To Tour

It started with the two San Francisco shows on September 7th and 8th, which was their first live performance in the US since 2003! Today they are in Denver Colorado, and then they jump over to the east coast. Ireland, UK, Europe and Japan will be wowed by their spectacular live performances starting in October.
