White Noise Releases An Electric Storm

June 28th, 2007

White Noise is reissuing their debut LP, An Electric Storm! Originally released in 1969 by members of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, the recording has been remastered and will be reissued on July 2nd in the UK. White Noise and BBC Radiophonic Workshop experimented with early electronic music, contemporaries of Bruce Haack, Bob Moog, and Throbbing Gristle. One of the members of both White Noise and BBC RW, Delia Derbyshire, reworked a composition by Ron Grainer into a piece of musique concrete that would become legendary. It was used as the theme song for the BBC television show, Dr. Who! The BBC RW was also responsible for the special sounds made by the TARDIS, the sonic screwdriver, K9 and other characters on the Dr. Who program as well as the psychedelic time-traveling electronic music.
